Illinois Tech’s Master of Information Technology is designed to help you elevate your IT career, providing an industry-aligned, career-ready, and hands-on education to help you thrive in a rapidly changing industry. Now, even more industry-relevant, the program recognizes select industry certificates on Coursera as prior learning credit, making it more accessible and cost-effective. This potentially helps you save money and offers an alternative route to admissions with a new performance-based admissions route.

You can earn credit for your prior learning

Complete one of the following professional certificates on Coursera and gain 3 credits towards Illinois Tech’s Master of Information Technology degree’s core curriculum once you are accepted and enrolled. Learners taking this route must first complete a required PBA course to gain entry onto the degree.

Interested? Between the rigorous in-demand curriculum and advanced skills development, you’ll be well-prepared to take your IT career to the next level. After you complete a certificate, Illinois Tech will conduct an evaluation and your prior learning may be recognised for academic credit. You can take these certificates at any time during the program, and the credits will be evaluated accordingly. Please note that an additional exam may be required for certain certificates.

Admissions made easy with prior learning on Coursera
